POLY STRIP ABRASIVE DRAWING WHEEL for Surface Renovation Tool (PSR201BL)

The Poly Strip wheel is the heavy-duty cleaning wheel in the Winkko PSR201BL range. It’s made of a coarse, open-web polymer material with abrasive grain bonded all the way through. It removes paint, rust, scale and old coatings aggressively, but it’s much kinder to the base material than a wire brush or coarse sanding belt.

The open structure lets removed paint, rust and debris clear away instead of clogging the wheel. This keeps it cutting consistently, reduces heat and helps prevent softer coatings from smearing. It also flexes slightly, so it follows panel contours, seams and profiles, and it doesn’t throw wire bristles like a wire brush.

As well as stripping, it leaves a clean, lightly brushed surface with a good key, ready for primer, filler or paint.

With a 100mm working width and the PSR201BL’s variable speed of 1500–3300 rpm, you can strip large areas quickly or slow down for more control on thin panels and edges.

Tip
Use moderate speed and light pressure. The wheel cuts best when it isn’t forced, and pressing too hard only increases heat and wear. On thin panels, keep the tool moving so heat doesn’t build up in one spot. For a finer finish afterwards, follow up with the Winkko interleaved or non-woven flap wheel.

Safety
Always wear eye protection, a dust mask and gloves. Check the wheel for damage before use. When removing old paint, take care: it may contain lead, so use suitable dust extraction and respiratory protection.
