TRIDENT BLOCK TEST FLUID KIT
M715£49.99
It’s designed to detect combustion gases (exhaust gases) in the cooling system of engines. If combustion gases are present, that usually points to problems like:
-
A blown head gasket
-
Cracked engine block
-
Cracked or warped cylinder head

How It Works
-
Fill tester with fluid: The test fluid is normally bluish in colour.
-
Connect the tester: To the radiator neck or the coolant reservoir so that it is exposed to the cooling system’s vapour/pressure.
-
Run engine/pressurise: The engine is run so that any combustion gases entering the cooling system are pushed through the tester.
-
Observe fluid colour: If combustion gases (CO₂ etc.) are present, the test fluid changes from blue to yellow. UK Tools+1
-
If the fluid remains blue, likely no combustion leakage is occurring (or leak is below detectable threshold).
-
If changes to yellow, there is a leak somewhere — head gasket, cracked head/block, or warped surfaces
-
When to Use It
Use this tester kit when you suspect there’s a combustion leak or head gasket failure. Here are typical symptoms / situations:
-
White smoke from exhaust
-
Coolant loss with no obvious external leak
-
Overheating, or coolant turning brown/milky (oil contamination)
-
Bubbles in the radiator/coolant overflow tank
-
Exhaust smell in coolant
Also useful in any situation where engine performance is poor, oil and coolant appearance is abnormal, or after engine overheating.
