One of the best ways to strip paint and rust is with a blaster and usually it’s the only way to get the rust out of the pits or hard-to-reach areas. Therefore blasting is usually a necessity for any restoration work, but to do the job right, you will need to use different media types and different materials depending on whether you’re stripping paint,  rust or if it’s on sheet metal, fiberglass or urethane bumpers.

Description

The Eastwood Master Blaster is a must have piece of equipment for any restoration. One of it’s unique selling point is the two tanks so that you can have different media types in each, for example, soda in one and an abrasive media like aluminum oxide in the other, which is great when you’re blasting a car and you’re going from rusty metal panels where you need an aggressive media type and then to removing paint from fiberglass or Urethane, where you need to be more gentle.

Plus, you can switch on the fly with the mixing valve, and being able to switch quickly is going to save you a lot of time. Plus, the valve also allows you to mix the media together to create your own blend to strip parts.

It’ll work with a compressor that operates at a minimum of 10 CFM and 90 PSI.

If you’re restoring a car or truck, you don’t want a blaster – you need one!…..and this is the one you need in your garage!

I bought this to strip an entire 63 Falcon. There is definitely a learning curve but if you’re patient and keep experimenting with the media valve and throttle valve you’ll be blasting for hours with no trouble. I love mine so far! I’ve stripped both front fenders (inside and out) both doors (inside and out), and am now working on the hood and deck lid. I use black beauty in the abrasive side with no trouble so far! Do yourself a favour and buy a sifter (it fits the top of a 5 gallon bucket perfectly) and a good hood. I’m curious how long the valves will last after reading the reviews but I realise they won’t last forever flowing abrasive through them but hopefully they will last awhile. I also put a tie wrap on the dead man valve (loosely so that it can be slid off and on) because holding the handle down gets tiring.
