The grease base has high viscosity and is high‑temperature, meaning it stays where applied, even under pressure or heat, and resists being thrown off or drying out quickly.

It offers “shear stability,” corrosion protection, and helps with sealing during grinding or lapping operations.

What It’s Used For / Applications
Extra Fine 360‑grit is suited for precision or finishing tasks. Examples of its use:

Valve seating / lapping in engines, especially final trimming or checking and improving contact pattern.

Finishing mating flat faces, flanges, or bearing surfaces where tight tolerances matter.

Removing light scoring, small imperfections, and refining surfaces after heavier pastes or abrasives (coarser grades) have done the bulk of material removal.
This silicon carbide and lithium grease grinding compound comes in four grades for cylinder honing, score mark removal and cylinder head lapping in: extra fine, fine, medium, coarse and extra coarse.
