TRIDENT BLOCK TEST FLUID KIT

M715

£49.99

It’s designed to detect combustion gases (exhaust gases) in the cooling system of engines. If combustion gases are present, that usually points to problems like:

  • A blown head gasket

  • Cracked engine block

  • Cracked or warped cylinder head

Description
How It Works
  1. Fill tester with fluid: The test fluid is normally bluish in colour.

  2. Connect the tester: To the radiator neck or the coolant reservoir so that it is exposed to the cooling system’s vapour/pressure.

  3. Run engine/pressurise: The engine is run so that any combustion gases entering the cooling system are pushed through the tester.

  4. Observe fluid colour: If combustion gases (CO₂ etc.) are present, the test fluid changes from blue to yellow. UK Tools+1

  • If the fluid remains blue, likely no combustion leakage is occurring (or leak is below detectable threshold).

  • If changes to yellow, there is a leak somewhere — head gasket, cracked head/block, or warped surfaces

  • When to Use It

Use this tester kit when you suspect there’s a combustion leak or head gasket failure. Here are typical symptoms / situations:

    • White smoke from exhaust

    • Coolant loss with no obvious external leak

    • Overheating, or coolant turning brown/milky (oil contamination)

    • Bubbles in the radiator/coolant overflow tank

    • Exhaust smell in coolant

Also useful in any situation where engine performance is poor, oil and coolant appearance is abnormal, or after engine overheating.
