FERPOX 1K Epoxy Black Primer
26401£35.99
FERPOX is an extremely resistant 1-component epoxy primer for heavily stressed metals, machines and body parts. It is easy to apply, temperature-resistant, paint-compatible and highly abrasion-resistant.
Due to the particularly high quality, FERPOX can also be used as a finishing or top coat depending on the surface finish. It can be used in mechanical and plant engineering as well as for car bodies and frames.
- Extreme corrosion protection
- Overpaintable
- Simple application
- Fast drying
- Temperature resistant up to 250 ° C
- High abrasion resistance
In stock
FERPOX is a 1-part epoxy primer. It is lead and chromate free and temperature resistant.
FERPOX is applied as normal primer or paint and has a particularly good adhesion to iron, steel, pre-treated aluminium or hot-dip galvanized metal. Due to its particularly high strength, FERPOX is the ideal primer for all heavily stressed or corrosion-prone metals. In the automotive sector, FERPOX is used in the following areas: subfloors, wheel arches, spray walls, frames, window frames, battery holders and much more. The application is carried out by means of a brush, roller or spray gun. For application with compressed air spray guns max. dilution is 10% nitro..
ADVANTAGES
- Can be applied with pneumatic tools or brush/roller
- No long drying and waiting times
- Temperature resistant from -40 – +250 °C
- Can be easily painted over with many paints
- High mechanical load capacity
APPLICATION
When applying with brush or roller apply one thin layer only. 1x thin layer is completely sufficient.
The areas to be treated must be free of corrosion and old coatings must be hardened and sanded. Remove any remaining mill scale. If used on aluminium, pre-treat with a wash primer beforehand. Do not exceed a maximum layer thickness of 150 μm for 2-component paints. Avoid high humidity and low/high temperatures, as otherwise a longer drying/hardening time is to be expected. FERPOX should only be used between min. 15°C and max. 30°C. Especially in the summer months, make sure that the temperature of the metal does not exceed this temperature.
Excessive film thicknesses also lead to greatly prolonged drying. This is particularly important if the product is to be painted over, as otherwise bubbles may form in the subsequent coat.
When using nitrocellulose lacquers as a topcoat (usually in spray cans), the primer must be completely hardened. The drying time can be reduced by using additional oxygen (e.g. fan) and thin layers.
